Achievements in KS2
Every Thursday Key Stage 2 gather together in the hall and celebrate the achievements of pupils at Woodheys. It is called our Merit Assembly and it is an opportunity for the teachers to choose one child in their class who has excelled in a certain value (linked to our school values) that has been the focus for the week. The new value is launched each week within our Monday whole school Values assembly. Within the KS2 Merit assembly we also ask children to bring in any awards or achievements outside of school - these range from swimming certificates, Man of the Match trophies, karate belts achieved, dance or ballet exams and many more different awards which we love to celebrate. It is always a pleasure to share the varied and impressive awards received by our Junior school pupils. The pupils inspire each other to want to succeed and celebrate all of the incredible talents of the pupils of Woodheys. At Woodheys we really celebrate children's Growth Mindset.
Mr Brogan presents the KS2 certificates including our winning house captain being awarded with the house trophy for that week!
Straight after the KS2 Merit Assembly, we also invite the KS2 Merit winners to a special 'Hot Choc' event so that we can have more of an informal catch up and once again celebrate the special achievements from all the pupils. Across the year we hope that every child in KS2 will have the opportunity to join in with this event and be rewarded for their hard work and effort.
The photos will be shared on the 'Whole School' channel on ParentHub.
