Sports Day - KS1 2014

What a brilliant morning we all had!! The children thoroughly enjoyed racing down the track in various ways, from bouncing on space hoppers to jumping in sacks all the way to the finish line. The pupils weren’t the only competitive people on the day, the ‘grown ups’ races were also a real hit. Well done to all those who were brave enough to take part- especially in the space hopper race! We would also like to thank the Friends of Woodheys (FOW) for providing ice- pops which were well received by the children!

Sports Day - KS2 2014

In keeping with the 2014 World Cup celebrations our Key Stage 2 Sport’s Day had an international carnival theme! Thank you to all our visitors who came to support the children. Each child in years 3,4,5 and 6 chose a football team that they would represent during the games. Children were invited to wear the colours of their country and we saw some wonderful face paints, flags and accessories.

Throughout the morning we had obstacle, sack, egg and spoon and sprint races. These races were both participation and competitive races. To end the morning we had a House Relay race and the victors were Dunham! All medal racers received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd medal and were applauded on the winner’s podium.

Every child gave their all and supported their peers with enthusiasm. We thank the children for their fantastic attitude and behaviour throughout the morning. Congratulations to all our KS2 children!
